Computing Curriculum Intent

Pupils will

  • ✓ understand, respect, and apply online safety guidance in and out of school
  • ✓ have confidence in coding for a range of practical and innovative purposes
  • ✓ be able to apply their coding skills and within their subjects
  • ✓ understand the connected nature of devices and the everyday application of devices in the wider world
  • ✓ be able to collect and organise data and manipulate it effectively

Computing Curriculum Implementation

  • years 1 to 6 will have discrete lesson every week
  • EYFS will use a range of technological devices and tools within their learning of other subjects in provision
  • all pupils will use computing as appropriate on a regular basis in other curriculum areas
  • in each milestone phase there will be a parent’s information meeting in Autumn 1 sharing the most recent internet safety guidance
  • opportunities will be given to learn about and experience the use of computing in the wider world

Pupils will

  • confidently use computing tools and devises safely and independently as a tool for communicating, information sharing and learning
  • connect with others safely and effectively
  • understand the need to act within the law and with integrity
  • have the skills and knowledge access their next level of learning
