Computing Curriculum Intent

Pupils will

✓ understand, respect, and apply online safety guidance in and out of school
✓ have confidence in coding for a range of practical and innovative purposes
✓ be able to apply their coding skills and within their subjects
✓ understand the connected nature of devices and the everyday application of devices in the wider world
✓ be able to collect and organise data and manipulate it effectively

years 1 to 6 will have discrete lesson every week
EYFS will use a range of technological devices and tools within their learning of other subjects in provision
all pupils will use computing as appropriate on a regular basis in other curriculum areas
in each milestone phase there will be a parent’s information meeting in Autumn 1 sharing the most recent internet safety guidance
opportunities will be given to learn about and experience the use of computing in the wider world

Pupils will

confidently use computing tools and devises safely and independently as a tool for communicating, information sharing and learning
connect with others safely and effectively
understand the need to act within the law and with integrity
have the skills and knowledge access their next level of learning
